THE TAKE

This was another very strongly hyped cheesesteak and breakfast sandwich spot. It was either owned by or closely affiliated with B-Uno’s, a chain of 3 or so Mexican restaurants in Burlington County. I have to assume the shop’s name is a reference to the former Atco Raceway, which was about 5 miles from here.

I had a ton of options for customization when ordering (including, of course, to get the sandwich prepared on a bagel). I chose a standard roll, with a fine chop, Cooper Sharp, and onions. You get a side, so I chose tots. The bread was not very good, definitely starting to become stale, and was falling apart. The sandwich was pretty generously stuffed, but the chop was still much bigger than I’d like with very little seasoning. I’d also prefer the cheese to be more uniformly integrated. The result was that the sandwich as a whole felt dry. The onions did not add much in terms of flavor or texture. I probably could have requested extra, and would do so for cheese as well.

The tots were very good, so I recommend trying them. I believe you can get the cheesesteak served on one of their namesake bagels, which could be a good brunch option.
