Our scoring system uses a 0 – 10 scale and averages the detailed criteria into four category scores, then averages those categories into the Overall score. Traditional and chicken cheesesteaks use Roll, Meat, Cheese, and Onions. Specialty concepts use Roll, Meat, Cheese, and Concept, with Concept measuring overall flavor, the texture of add-ins, and execution. When onions are unavailable for a Traditional or Chicken review, that category is marked N/A and excluded from the Overall calculation.
The scores don’t take into account the shop, the ordering experience/customer service, or sides. Although these factors may be worth a mention in the review, scores are only based on the cheesesteak.
