Advertising &
Editorial Policy
Last updated October 7, 2026
Seeded Roll's reviews, category scores, overall scores, and rankings are independent editorial judgments. Commercial relationships cannot purchase, improve, suppress, or otherwise influence a review score, ranking position, or selection decision.
Current advertising status
Seeded Roll uses restrained manual, responsive Google AdSense units on the homepage, Rankings, Map, and eligible official review pages. The homepage unit appears after the Latest Review feature and before Current Rankings. The Rankings unit appears after the first five ranking rows. The Map unit appears between the page introduction and the live map/results experience. The review-page unit appears after THE TAKE and before FROM THE SPOT. Each unit is clearly labeled ADVERTISEMENT. Google Auto Ads, overlays, anchors, vignettes, listing-page ads, paid placements, affiliate placements, and sponsorships are inactive.
Commercial-content boundaries
Any future advertising, sponsorship, or affiliate link will be clearly labeled and visually separated from editorial scoring and rankings. A restaurant may never buy a favorable review, a higher score, or placement in an editorial ranking.
Review independence
- Scores are determined only by the published Seeded Roll methodology.
- Advertising relationships do not change the primary reviewer's conclusions.
- Sponsored placements will not be presented as editorial ranking positions.
- Affiliate economics will not determine which products, restaurants, or services receive favorable coverage.
Placement limits
Programmatic advertising is limited to one manual responsive unit on each approved public surface: homepage, Rankings, Map, and eligible official review pages. Ads remain visually separated from ranking scores, map controls/results interactions, and review prose. No placement activates automatically, and Auto Ads remain disabled.
