Scoring Methodology
Our cheesesteak scoring system is based on a 0 – 10 scale across 17 technical metrics, resulting in category scores for bread, meat, cheese and onions, as well as an overall score. To see the category scores, click on the individual review post. Sometimes we couldn’t get fried onions (either the shop didn’t offer them or we were splitting the sandwich with others who didn’t want them), and that’s okay! In those cases, the onion metrics are turned off and the overall scores are calculated without them.
The scores don’t take into account the shop, the ordering experience/customer service, or sides. Although these factors may be worth a mention in the review, scores are only based on the cheesesteak.
