This is one of those local pizza shops that has pictures on the menu from some sort of clip art (if it were built today, would they be A.I. generated?). As a result, you don’t know what to expect your food to look like. We have heard that the pizza here is good.
The cheesesteak was pretty much straight off the menu, with no room for customization. The roll was a generic white hoagie roll that was so soft, you’re not quite sure how it will manage to stay together. But somehow, it did. The roll was also not very bready and kind of squished in your hand while holding it. Overall, not a great roll.
There were no options for cheese. Honestly I’m sure what this was, but it was very melted and mixed into the meat, with no remarkable flavor. It was so melty, it stayed in an almost liquidy state the entire time I was eating the sandwich. The onions were a medium dice and cooked to the point of being translucent and generally flavorless, but were evenly mixed.
The meat was not well-stuffed, and had been chopped so fine, it looked like ground beef. It also had that distinct beefy flavor that you often associate with high fat ground beef, with no obvious seasoning. The runny cheese and the fat from the meat kept the sandwich from being too dry, which makes it even more surprising that the roll didn’t disintegrate.
Overall, the sandwich was unremarkable. Not bad, just not special.
